Jet lag happens when you cross several time zones and your body clock is still running on home time – leaving you tired, unable to sleep, and often a bit off your food. It can’t be prevented entirely, but its effects can be reduced. Our pharmacists can advise on adjusting your sleep and light exposure around your flight, and discuss whether treatment is suitable for you.
Why does altitude sickness happen, and can I stop it?
Altitude sickness occurs when you travel to a high altitude too quickly, before your body has had chance to adjust to the thinner air. Ascending gradually with rest days is the most effective prevention, and our pharmacists can also provide medication to help prevent and treat it.
What is malaria, and can I reduce my risk?
Malaria is a serious infection spread by mosquito bites, found in many tropical and subtropical countries. In higher-risk destinations, antimalarial tablets are recommended. Avoiding bites matters just as much – insect repellent, covering up after dark, and sleeping under a net where needed.
